the great debate

-I post this - a quote from a friend - only to bring up a subject that deserves attention.
"The reason why relativism/absolutism is such a big argument is because they are both correct. Or rather; things are absolutely relevant. Or, in other words, I think absolutism is relative. To rephrase I think that relativism is absolute. (catch what I mean…)
Therefore, an absolute answer becomes……well, relative"

it's an interesting debate on Religion and Evangelicalism. - comments anyone?
The kids are going to their 1st day of Pre-school. I am happy and think that they will really enjoy it. Don is not happy about paying for childcare. but I dont have a choice if i'm going to finish college.

back to school

On Monday I plan to put my children in a Christian pre-school during the 3 days that I am in classes. I think that if it all works out the situation will be great. Don is not so thrilled with the idea. He thinks our children’s innocence will be lost and forgotten. I want to respect his wishes to keep the kids at home as long as possible; but I am out of options- unless I quit school. I think that Caleb will really enjoy the social and intellectual stimuli. Jadyn will also like it as well- she always likes playing with other kids. I do have my concerns –Like will Caleb get kicked out of school for misbehavior? It’ll be a new experience for them.
it's kinda weird to think of myself and my kids being in school at the same time- guess i never thought it would be this way.

I'm an Aunt

My sister Aubra had a baby boy on Aug. 25th - his name is Isaiah Destin Halladay.

It's a BOY!

Yesterday my sister, Aubra, had an emergency C-section. She was having some complications and the baby was as well.
She is now still having trouble with high blood pressure. The baby is only 4lbs. Their health insurance is not covering most of the expenses. This is going to be a huge burden for her and her husband. Please pray for their health and financial situation
.

Tonight my sister Aubra went to the Hospital with pregnancy complications… she is not due till the 17th of September… but she could have the baby soon. Please pray for her and the baby.

Today was the 1st day of classes – I think I will enjoy all the classes except theology. But then again I like the reading that inspires deeper thinking. I have a lot of reading and writing to do already. I still do not have a babysitter…
I really believe that I am supposed to be in school, so I am hopeful that I will find one soon.

insomniac

Tonight I am definitely having insomniac problems… I am not a person who requires a lot of sleep…I just cannot sleep tonight…- it could be the coffee I drank earlier in the evening or just too much going on in the head. I do have a lot on my mind. …School starts Wednesday. This weekend is full…and I am praying that it will be a relaxing and fun time… but I have concerns. We are going to the Eastern shore of VA / MD with our friends. I hope to have lots of pictures when I get back.

Thoughts of friends and my husband and children and family are on the top of my mind. I take all these thoughts to God… Only HE knows all the answers.

This week the leaves started falling/ gathering on my deck… somewhat of a sad sight to me. I love the summer… and I hate to see it ending. With it’s end come so many responsibilities. No time to not think straight. I will not have time for my daily runs nor will the weather permit. I need that time to meditate and clear my head.

Loneliness

This is a pretty relevant topic to all people –
“Loneliness has nothing to do with the presents of people… is the hunger of the human heart for emotional intimacy -The need to feel connected.” David T. Moore
Loneliness is the human need to feel intimately connected and lack of meaningful contact w/ others.
it’s an emotional problem for all people.
n No one else can fix this problem but ourselves
Acceptance is peoples greatest personal need
Acceptance gives us an anchor
A –Acceptance is not optional- aggressive reaching out to others – biblical obligation
“don’t show favoritism” we are to go out of your way for others
C- Christ Accepts us for who we are – he accepted us 1st. Does not expect continued perfection. – we need to meet other needs not focus on meeting our needs
When people are left vulnerable to emotional loneliness when they encounter life changes and decisions – The church needs to meet these types of needs --

confessions

I have a confession to make --when i'm alone I eat ice cream ( or other sweets) and read.
I can be a real loser...
I have been having the worst problem w/ the grass is greener on the other side syndrom... I have great friends who act like they want/wish they had what Don & I have... but Sometimes
All i can do is take it to the Lord and pray that I can be truley satisfied and fulfilled through Him and with the life I have been given. I have been given so much...

A Picture Share!

Busy day...Just wanted to say hi.

Peter Jennings

Peter Jennings died today of lung cancer. it's sorta weird when someone dies that you are used to seeing on a daily basis-even if it's just on TV. It makes me feel old - a icon of my childhood gone...> but he was a democrat and a canuck, so we'll be ok.

Hi from jadyn

fun week

this past week was a pretty good one. I know I'm going to miss all this free time when school starts. I went to the pool and cleaned house. I watched Don's 2 youngest sibling on Thursday -- and we went out to eat and even had everyone over for cards. Friday Don went to Travis Klous's Bachelor party and Liz and I went out for a girl night ( we might have to do it again sometime).

cleaning up

Don, Stoner and I started working on the burned house. We got a lot done the 1st time out there. It was my job to clean out the refridgerator that had been sitting with food in it for over a month... it was the nastiest smelling/looking job i've ever done.... maggots/worms and all. I'm glad that's over with. The kids and all of us where black all over when we left. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes us to get it up and running.
We are planning a weekend trip to The Eastern shore, or Assateague State Park in MD in a couple of weeks. http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/eastern/assateague.html
I'm excited about getting away from Lynchburg for a weekend. I'm hoping it will work out for Don's mom to watch the kids while we are gone; that would make the trip really great!
